DescriptionA luohan (arhat in Sanskrit) is a holy hermit monk who strives to arrive at Buddhahood through meditation. In Chinese temples, luohans are usually found in groups of sixteen or eighteen. This sculpture, although in plain wood now, originally was painted in rich colours.
