Tarahumara sash weavers hand spin their wool, and skillfully braid the ends of the warp threads to prevent unravelling, creating a decorative fringe. Similar geometric patterning is seen in photographs taken around 1900. This sash was warp-patterned on a rigid horizontal loom of logs.
