DescriptionThis lamp is made of 'Fayoum ware' (brown clay with sand, lime and gold mica -biotite- particles), which has been given a yellowish coating (wash) and then painted on the upper part with red slip. The lug handle on the left is in the shape of a dolphin facing towards the nozzle, and the long nozzle itself is decorated in relief with a torch so that the flame from the wick would emerge from the end of the torch.
