Description

Young Herakles

From a herm. This head is of the same type as on the "Lansdowne Herakles", a statue attributed to the Greek sculptor Skopas. A number of Roman copies of this statue or of the head alone exist. The complete herm would have consisted of a 4-cornered pillar topped by the head.
