DescriptionThis dress is printed with a complex and lively design which reflects the new possibilities inherent in roller printing. The development of a washable cotton dress, which was both affordable and fashionable, was quite revolutionary. Atypically, this dress and lining opens at the front, indicating that it may have been worn for nursing. The matching cape permitted the dress to be worn in public for formal visits or shopping.
