DescriptionThis man's coat is part of a two-piece suit by Moschino, Cheap and Chic collection. A fashion iconoclast, Franco Moschino rocked the world with his daring, humorous, and ironic fashions and marketing campaigns. This design encapsulates his wit that is realized in a printed zebra pattern – using black as the dominant stripe on the back and white as the dominant colour on the front of the jacket and trousers. Artist Christopher Estridge wore this to his own art opening and enhanced the irony of the African animal print worn in an urban setting by co-ordinating it with shirt (2009.18.2), sneakers (2009.18.4.1-2), hat (2010.18.29) or cap (2009.18.3), and brooch (2009.18.5).
