DescriptionThis standing figure of a male saint has been woven in weft-loop pile rather than in tapestry weave. We see a frontal figure with curly hair and beard, his right hand raised in benediction. In the upper left corner, there is part of an inscription in Greek, the beginning of the word "APPA" (Father). This might have been part of a hanging or curtain in a Coptic church or monastery.
