DescriptionThis krater (a mixing-bowl for wine) imitates the shape of metal versions with a moulded egg band decoration on the rim and moulded lobes on the lower body. It has been coated in black-gloss slip and then painted in white, red and yellow added paint. Beneath a continuous band of twisted ribbon and ivy leaves, a young winged Eros, wearing only boots, walks to the left while holding a purse and putting a wreath on his head. On each side of him are ribbons and wreaths. On the other side of the vase a draped figure holding a wreath is flying to the left. Behind her is another wreath.
