Description This ostrakon, or document written on a ceramic sherd, carries a text written in Greek, and is a receipt for taxes. It reads: "Pikos, collector of money taxes, to Pates son of Tasemis, I have received for poll tax and bath tax for Notos for the 9th year, copper drachmas seven, 5 ob., 2 ch., that is, dr.7, 5 ob., 2 ch. [Year] 9 of Hadrian, Mesore 21."
