Rim fragment from a bowl

Medium:Mould-cast glass with interior ground grooves; severe surface decay and pitting
Geography: Found in Jerusalem, made in Syro-Palestine
Date: about 25 BC-25 AD
Period: Roman period
Dimensions:
5.5 x 3.2 cm

Object History: This is one of a group of objects given an "x" number in 1952, which means that the ROM has no original documentation of acquiring the object. However the ROM documentation states that they were "dug up at Salaom and on Mt. Zion". Assuming "Mt. Zion" is Mount Zion in Jerusalem, "Salaom" is presumably the Pool of Siloam.
