Description

This box (round-bodied pyxis) with its original lid is decorated in black-figure technique with an animal frieze on the body and another on the lid. The animals include birds, sirens and panthers. It is dated to the Middle Corinthian period and attributed to the Painter of Tübingen 5585 by Amyx.
