Faustina the Younger

Faustina the Younger was the daughter of the Roman Emperor Antoninus Pius (ruled AD 138-161) and wife of the co-emperor Marcus Aurelius (ruled AD 161-180).

Object History: Purchased from C.T. Seltman in February, 1930. Findspot unknown. Said to have been brought from Italy in the 18th century by an ancestor of a family in the west of England in whose possession it remained until the 20th century.
