DescriptionThis fragment from the body of an Attic plate is decorated in black figure technique with the snakey hair of a central gorgoneion (gorgon head), now missing. Other fragments of the same plate are now in the collection of the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford (registration numbers G.128.1 & G,128,8) and in the British Museum, London (registration numbers 1888,0601.579, 1888,0601.588.b). Beazley attributed this plate to the Gorgon Painter.
