DescriptionInsignia badge for the back of a pufu (overcoat) for the wife of a civil official with a 3rd degree rank (peacock). Silk and gold tapestry (kesi). Left-facing bird on mound in wave border with buddhist symbols; clouds, bats and taoist symbols against background of white tendrils on dark blue ground; stylized flowers grow from rock mounds at sides. Three rows of couched thread frames the design. Border of bats and shou characters. Painting throughout design.
