DescriptionOn one side of the amphora (wine jar) a bearded Dionysos, holding a kantharos (wine cup) and surrounded by vine-sprays, stands between two women, probably Maenads, who each hold krotola (percussion instruments). On the other side Apollo playing his kithera (lyre) stands between two women, probably Muses, with krotola. This is attributed to the Dot-Band Class, a group of various painters, by Beazley.
