DescriptionOn one side of this wine jar (amphora) Herakles, wearing a lion skin, fights three amazon warriors, all shown with white skin because they are female. Two of the amazons are dressed as hoplite warriors with helmet and shield and one is an archer wearing a pointed cap. On the other side is a battle scene with three hoplites.
