DescriptionOn one side of the amphora (wine jar) Herakles, wearing his lion skin, attacks an Amazon warrior with his club. On the other side, a hoplite warrior attacks an Amazon dressed as a hoplite, but with white skin (perhaps Achilles attacking Penthesilea). On either side stand male onlookers wearing cloaks and holding staffs. This is the name-vase of the Painter of Toronto 313 according to Beazley.
