DescriptionSet of insignia badges for the front and back of a pufu (overcoat) of a 9th rank civil official (paradise flycatcher). Blue-black satin embroidered in silk floss in satin stitch and outlines in couched gold thread. Left-facing bird on mound in billows and lishui (deep water) wave border against closely filled background of clouds and buddhist symbols infilled with gold tendrils. Border of tendrils and lotus in blue silk and couched gold thread.
