DescriptionLeft and right halves of insignia badge for the front of a pufu (overcoat) for a 3rd rank civil official (peacock). Silk and gold tapestry (kesi). Left-facing bird on mound in billows with buddhist wheel of fire and ruyi sceptre; rocks at sides with narcissus and fungus; clouds and bats against background of gold tendrils on dark blue ground. Border of lotus and tendrils in gold on dark blue ground. Some painted details. Left and right halves sewn together.
