Head of a Middle Aged Woman
The portrait is realistic and austere - the stern expression intensified by the down-turned corners of the mouth. Her simple hairstyle, parted in the middle, is partially covered by a heavy veil.
Object History: Donated by Mr. Adrano Olivetti, President, Olivetti Company, Toronto, on the occasion of ceremonial opening of the Seaway Terminal in the port of Toronto, 1958. Said to have been found at Fondi, near Rome.
