DescriptionThis piece was originally intended to cover a pile of quilts. The artist used embroidery and applique to depict two gopis or cowherds churning butter, at centre. They appear dressed in stylized ghagra (wide skirt) and choli (blouse). The design also features stylized trees flanked by birds, horsemen and panelled rosettes.
