DescriptionA female saint wearing elaborate Byzantine court dress is framed by a lozenge lattice design with birds and other unrecognizable creatures. On either side, there are finely drawn leafy scroll rinceau borders. The inaccurate depiction of elements of Byzantine court dress would indicate a date after the Arab conquest, when Egypt was no longer part of the Byzantine Empire.
