Description

This textile was designed to commemorate the Oberkampf factory being made a Manufacture Royale in 1783. The design shows the steps of making both woodblock-printed and copperplate-printed textiles at the Oberkampf factory at Jouy-en-Josas. Roller-printing is not shown since the design for this textile pre-dates the introduction of roller-printing at Jouy in 1797.
