DescriptionThis furnishing textile panel, entitled "Les Begonias" or "Treiillage"  was produced by Atelier Martine for Paul Poiret. It is made of linen tabby block printed with large repeat pattern on dark ground of pink lattice and large flowering begonias in pink and blue, with green leaves.Influenced by Japonisme.  It is from a length that was never used. This textile by one of the leading fashion designers of the day, Paul Poiret, is an early example of fashion designers moving into the home furnishings market.
