DescriptionRight and left halves of insignia badge for the front of a man's pufu (overcoat); military rank of the 1st degree (qilin). Blue-black satin ground embroidered with silk floss in satin stitch, long and short stitch, stem stitch and couching. Animal right-facing on flat-topped mound in billows containing Buddhist symbols; clouds and bats in background. Reds, blue-green and blue predominate. Fret border of couched gold thread.
