DescriptionThis tiraz fragment is made of loosely woven linen tabby with a tapestry woven inscription in red and yellow silk. The inscription is a version of the monumental Abbasid style: "In the name of Allah the Merciful, the Compassionate. Victory from Allah to al-Mansur...." Above is a narrow plain band with blue linen wefts, and a worn out plain silk weft band.
