Pearled hexagonal medallions contain human figures with arms extended (in prayer) and a cross. Other medallions contain pairs of birds and animals stylized beyond recognition. Above and below are bands resembling tiraz inscriptions. They imply good wishes, and like the Christian motifs, would have been appreciated by the Coptic community.
