DescriptionThis Tiraz fragment is made of somewhat heavier, closely woven but rather fine linen tabby. It is decorated with two bands of tapestry weave possibly worked in very fine wool rather than silk, although this is not certain. The top band has a very stylized inscription and the bottom band is simply ornamental.
