DescriptionAlthough the ubiquitous Yemeni "Turquoise slip-painted" type becomes *very* common in the 15th century, it makes its first appearrance in the 11th century, such as in this example. The turquoise alkali glaze has, however, sufferred from sitting on a beach for almost a thousand years and has almost completely decayed.
