Description

This smoking pipe was recovered from the Thomson-Walker archaeological site in Simcoe County, Ontario. Occupied during the second quarter of the seventeenth century, the site was a palisaded Huron-Wendat village containing 20-30 longhouses. This general style of pipe is referred to as the trumpet (or conical) style based on the shape of its bowl.
