DescriptionThis small apothecary jar, recovered from Fort Albany, Ontario, is an English tin-glazed or "Delftware" earthenware likely used to store drugs and medicines. The white glaze, applied on both interior and exterior surfaces, has a blue and pink hue. No decoration is visible. This manufacture of ceramic reached its peak in popularity in the 17th and 18th centuries.
