This type of bronze vessel has been found in Meroitic graves and also those of Ballana.  Several have been found in graves.

What would it have been used for in life?  It could have contained a liquid, perhaps water for washing the fingers during a meal.  Perhaps such an expensive and elegant little bowl would have contained something more valuable, or at least more expensive, possiby some kind of cosmetic?
