DescriptionThese figures come from a large tomb similar to the tomb of Zu Dashou in this gallery. They form a procession of the kind that would have accompanied a high official on festive occasions, such as his accession to office in a new jurisdiction. A palanquin and a riderless horse (designated for the tomb occupant) are preceded by a mounted and a marching band and carriers of insignia.
