DescriptionThis album contains sixty watercolour drawings of life in the Punjab painted in the Company School style. Punjab and Sikh rulers are shown in pairs and are seated on European style chairs opposite each other. Also included are ten views of significant buildings and monuments in Lahore, Agra and Amritsar including the Golden Temple as well as forty views of various occupations with inscriptions in English. An inscription at the front indicates it was purchased by a Dr. Lawrie in Lahore around 1870 and likely taken abroad as a souvenir.
