DescriptionThis oinochoe shows a bearded Herakles, wearing his lion skin, attacking an dressed as a hoplite with shield and helmet. Her white skin indicates that she is female. Behind this pair stand attendants wearing cloaks and carrying staffs or spears. According to Beazley this is of the Collar-of-Esses Class of painters from the same workshop as the Light-make Class.
