DescriptionSet of insignia badges for the front and back of the pufu (overcoat) of a 2nd rank civil official (golden pheasant). Dark brown satin ground entirely covered with embroidery in peking knot outlined with white cord and background filled with couched gold thread. Left-facing bird on mound in billows containing buddhist symbols; peaches and peonies growning from rocks at sides; clouds and bats. Fret border of couched gold thread. Front halves uncut.
