DescriptionSet of insignia badges for the front and back of the pufu (overcoat) of the wife of a 5th rank civil official, symbolized by a silver pheasant. Dark brown satin ground entirely covered with embroidery. Silk floss embroidered design in peking knot outlined with couched white cord; background filled with couched gold thread. Left-facing bird on mound in billows containing buddhist symbols; peaches and peonies growing from rocks at sides; bats and clouds above. Border of bats and shou characters; edging of couched gold thread. Front halves sewn together.
