Description

Slip-on thong sandals with wide sole. The strap is embellished with amulet-like ornaments and a central conic decoration. These types of sandals are usually worn by people in positions of leadership and the decoration of the straps reflects their status. These sandals were donated to the ROM by Nana Kwame Edu VI, Tufohen of the Oguaa traditional area, who inherited them when he was installed on his chieftainship stool in 2008.
