DescriptionThis whistle is in the form of a dog carrying a smaller dog on its back.  The whistle's three holes are in the larger dog's body with the mouthpiece coming out of its shoulder. Animals among the Zapotec were often anthropomorphized in art, such that a dog would carry its baby on its back like a human would.
