DescriptionPoints such as this one are known as fluted points. This terms comes from the large flake removed from such points, visible in the groove running vertically up the center of the point from the base to middle. The distinctive outflared ears at the base make it a Barnes type of point. These points may have been attached to spears to hunt large game like caribou.
