DescriptionMaiasaura means “Good Mother Lizard.” These dinosaurs had large nesting colonies where they laid and incubated their eggs, and tended their newly hatched young. Each nest would have contained twenty or more eggs. The ROM’s specimen has one of the most complete and best-preserved skulls of any known Maiasaura, and was the focus of the Museum's Maiasaura Project. The skeleton on display is a cast of the Museum's original specimen which is still being studied.
