DescriptionGyposaurus was the first dinosaur acquired by the ROM. It was excavated by a ROM field party led by W.A Parks in 1918, and has been on display continuously since it was mounted in 1920. Look along its backbone to see the ossified (bony) tendons that helped keep the backbone stiff and horizontal. You will also find fragments of preserved skin impressions.
