DescriptionAdzes like this one were most likely used as woodworking tools. Adzes are identified based on their asymmetrical shapes (when viewed from the side). This asymmetry suggests that they were attached to a handle or shaft with their cutting edges running perpendicular to a handle (unlike axes, which have cutting edges that run parallel to their handles).
