Description
Figure seated with right knee up and left leg tucked back from knee; right arm bent with hand resting on right knee, left arm pendant; facial features indicated - eyes downcast and large ears with extended lobes; hair pulled up into high chignon on top of head. Wearing long shawl draped over shoulders and arms; shawl tucked up in centre-front and worn open at neck to reveal chest and upper edge of undergarment; long skirt - right foot protrudes; scarf frames head and falls onto shoulders and smoothly down to centre-back. Porcelain with clear glaze; base unglazed. Moulded; luting seam visible across base; open to interior cavity through small round hole off-centre in base.
