Description
This is an off-white figure of Buddha status on a dark green socle. The Buddha figure is seated with hands in the Bhūmisparśa mudra. One small perforation appears in left hand for "jewel" and another one in top of head. The jade sculpture features head that is covered with snail shell curls, extended ear lobes, robe covers both shoulders, and bare upper chest. Details of face and robe is sketchily carved in incised line and low relief. Socle is made on dark mottled green stone, in double platform with the lower part unevenly fluted sides, having an oval "stem" for lotus seat decorated with two layers of stiff pointed lotus leaves. 玉质白色。佛为坐姿,面部清秀,双耳垂肩,身披袈裟,右肩袒露。左手心有一孔,似有嵌插物。佛坐于莲花座之上,莲花座为碧玉,有墨点状杂质。
