Description
This headdress has a foundation of wire wound with black silk and flat strips of black satin interwoven in a lattice design. Flat kidney-shaped crown. Trimmed with pearls, glass imitation semiprecious stones and kingfisher feathers that are mounted on brass wire and foil. A large flower with bead petals and ruby matrix centre on crown is surrounded by 3 bats and scrolling sprays in feathers, and matching smaller flowers. The front decoration includes bead flowers and bats. There is a fringe of bead pendants along the brow.
