DescriptionA similar object in the National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh, (No. AQ 25) was found from a long cairn at Brekigoe, Thrumster, Caithness. Similar form but in granite-like stone.  A related but shallower example, AQ64, is from Kirk Andreas, Kirkcudbright. Probably Iron Age they could be later, the date is quite uncertain, and could run to Medieval. The usual Iron Age lamps have handles.
